A local organisation campaigning for the Alternative Vote system to be adopted in UK parliamentary elections.
Make Votes Count In West Sussex is an all-party/non-party group that campaigns in the county for a fairer voting system. It is campaigning now for a “Yes” vote in the referendum on 5 May 2011 on the way MPs are elected.
The new system would be only a small change but it would make a big difference. It would make sure that MPs were elected by a majority of voters. Over two-thirds of present MPs were elected by fewer than half the voters.
